A VO2 max test measures the maximum amount of oxygen your body can take in, transport, and use during intense exercise. It’s one of the best indicators of aerobic fitness and cardiovascular endurance.
It estimates your VO2 max (typically in ml/kg/min) and provides training zones based on heart rate and/or pace/power. Many protocols also report ventilatory thresholds (VT1/VT2), which are extremely useful for structuring endurance training.
You’ll exercise on a treadmill or bike while intensity increases every few minutes. You’ll wear a mask or mouthpiece so we can measure oxygen intake and carbon dioxide output, and you’ll be monitored for heart rate throughout. The test typically takes ~8–15 minutes of work after a short warm‑up.
It’s useful for endurance athletes, people returning to training, and anyone who wants an objective baseline for cardio fitness. It can help you set accurate training zones, track progress over time, and tailor workouts for fat loss, performance, or overall health.
VO₂ max is a measure of how efficiently your body can use oxygen during intense exercise. It’s one of the best general indicators of cardiovascular fitness and endurance.
